Why Don’t Tasks Clear Automatically in DriveCentric, and How Can I Resolve This?
In DriveCentric, tasks are designed to help users manage their workflow efficiently. However, there are instances where tasks may not clear automatically after completing an action. This article explains the common reasons tasks do not clear, troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue, and best practices for task management.
Overview of Task Management in DriveCentric
Tasks in DriveCentric are tied to specific actions. Each task must be completed individually, and the corresponding action must be performed within the context of the task itself. For example, sending an email or making a call will only clear the associated task if the task requires sending an email or making a call .
Common Reasons Tasks Do Not Clear
Generic Review Tasks: Tasks like “Dead Deal Reviews” are generic review tasks that are not tied to specific actions. Marking them complete does not auto-clear another item. With the proper permissions, you can: - Mark the task complete using the "Complete" action below the task. - Delete the review task manually after completing your work. - Convert the workflow to use Touchpoints or disable the creation of these tasks.
Call Logging Settings: If you select “Do not log call” when making a call, the task will not clear because the call attempt is excluded from reporting and metrics. To clear the task, initiate the call through DriveCentric and log the call with an appropriate outcome.
Multiple Tasks for a Customer: If a customer’s profile has multiple tasks (e.g., an Email task and a Touchpoint task), completing one action will not clear the others. Each task requires its corresponding action to be performed. Sending an email may clear the Email task and the Touchpoint will remain, requiring a different action (e.g. Call, Text or Video) for the Touchpoint to clear.
Troubleshooting Steps for Task Clearing Issues
If a task does not clear immediately after completing the required action, try the following:
Refresh the Page: On desktop, refreshing the page can resolve the issue.
Restart the Mobile App: On mobile, fully close and reopen the app to ensure the task list updates.
Best Practices for Task Completion
Use Touchpoints for workflows that require actionable tasks.
Regularly review and delete unnecessary review tasks to keep your task list organized.
Log calls and other actions appropriately to ensure tasks are cleared and metrics are updated.
By following these guidelines, you can effectively manage your tasks in DriveCentric and ensure a smoother workflow.
