Overview of Note Unpinning

Pinned notes in DriveCentric are displayed prominently at the top of a customer profile for easy access. Unpinning a note removes it from this prominent position but does not delete the note itself.

Roles and Permissions for Unpinning Notes

  1. Who Can Unpin Notes? - The user who originally pinned the note has the ability to unpin it. - Expert users can unpin notes created by other users.

  2. Who Cannot Unpin Notes? - Managers who do not have Expert User permission cannot unpin notes created by others. - There is no standalone permission that can be granted to enable unpinning for roles other than expert users or the note creator.

Step-by-Step Process for Unpinning a Note

To unpin a note in DriveCentric:

  1. Navigate to the customer profile where the note is pinned.

  2. Locate the pinned note at the top of the profile.

  3. Select the Unpin option on the note.

Once unpinned, the note will no longer appear at the top of the profile but will remain accessible in the notes section.

Limitations and Restrictions

  • Only users with the appropriate permissions (note creator or expert users) can unpin notes.

  • Permissions for unpinning cannot be extended to other roles.

  • Managers without the Expert User permission are restricted from unpinning notes created by others.

Can I grant a specific user permission to unpin notes?
