CDK: Getting Your DMS Connected

Step 7: How to order the DriveCentric integration in the CDK eStore, find your Inventory Code, and what happens after you approve.

Written by DriveCentric Support

What Is the CDK Integration?

CDK is a DMS, short for Dealer Management System. It is the software your store already uses to track deals, inventory, and accounting. Connecting it to DriveCentric lets both systems share information automatically, so your team is not entering the same deal twice.

Your part of this is short. You place the integration order in the CDK eStore and find one code for your Implementation Specialist. Everything after that happens on the DriveCentric side.

Ordering the Integration in eStore

The eStore link and a step-by-step PDF are both in your Onboarding Wizard.

Work through the order in this order:

  1. Open the eStore link in the Onboarding Wizard.

  2. Order the DriveCentric integration product.

  3. Review the order details and approve the order.

Keep the PDF open while you work through the order. It is built to match the eStore screens you will see, step by step.

Finding Your Inventory Code

CDK assigns your store an Inventory Code, and DriveCentric needs it to pull your inventory correctly. To find it:

  1. Open Work a Quote in CDK.

  2. Enter a stock number.

  3. Open the V screen.

Your Inventory Code is typically around line 13.

What Happens After You Approve the Order

Once you approve the eStore order, your Implementation Specialist takes it from there. They approve the order on the DriveCentric side and finish connecting CDK to your store.

This part usually takes 1 to 2 weeks. You will get an email once the connection is live, and there is nothing else you need to do in the meantime.

Good to Know

  • Your Implementation Specialist has to approve the order on the DriveCentric side, so the connection is not live the moment you approve in eStore.

  • Connection time is usually 1 to 2 weeks from your approval.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I find the eStore link and the PDF?

Both are in your Onboarding Wizard, on the CDK step. The PDF walks through each eStore screen in the same order you will see them.

Do I need to do anything after I approve the order?

No. Your Implementation Specialist finishes the connection and emails you once it is live.
