Managing Rebates and Toggling Between Manual and Auto Modes in DriveCentric's Desking Tool
The Desking tool in DriveCentric offers robust features for managing rebates and toggling between manual and auto modes. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for common tasks, troubleshooting tips, and settings adjustments to help you optimize your desking experience.
Overview of Manual and Auto Modes
In the Desking tool, rebates can be managed in two modes:
Auto Mode: Automatically applies lender-specific rebates and programs using the "Use Auto Lender Scan" feature.
Manual Mode: Allows you to manually input custom rebate values for greater control.
Switching between these modes is essential for tailoring deals to specific customer needs.
How to Enter Rebates in Manual Mode
Open the deal in the Desking tool.
Locate the rebate section on the right side of the screen.
If the rebate field is in Auto mode (indicated by an "A"), click the "A" to toggle it to Manual mode ("M").
Enter the desired rebate amount in the field and press Enter or click outside the field to apply it.
For lease deals, manual entry is typically available once you select the lease option.
How to Enable Auto Mode
Ensure the "Use Auto Lender Scan" toggle is enabled in the vehicle section of the deal.
If the Auto toggle is greyed out, edit the vehicle details and enable the Auto Lender Scan option.
Once enabled, the system will automatically pull in lender-specific rebates and programs.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Rebates Not Displaying on Proposal
If working a Finance or Lease deal, toggle off "Show Cash Breakdown" prior to printing to ensure rebates display correctly.
Manual Entry Fields Locked
Switch the rebate field to Manual mode by toggling the "A" to "M" located right above the Rebate field in the payment matrix.
Auto Mode Not Available
Verify that the "Use Auto Lender Scan" toggle is enabled in the vehicle settings by clicking on the dropdown next to the vehicle information and then selecting the Edit pencil.
If Auto mode is disabled at the store level, your store may not have the Rebate package. Contact an authorized Expert User for your location to add this package to your contract to have it enabled.
Adjusting Store-Level Settings
To apply default settings for all desks:
Navigate to Store Settings > Desking 2.0 > Global Default Profile.
Toggle off "Show Cash Breakdown" to ensure rebates display correctly.
Set the default mode to Manual or Auto as needed.
