If you ever occur inconsistencies when using DriveCentric on your Desktop Browser that are not consistently seen with others at your Dealership, most of the time the solution lies within your Browser. There are a few troubleshooting steps that you can take to see if they help resolve the inconsistencies. We have combined these troubleshooting steps below to help our partners review internally, or during a conversation with our Support Team:

Common Desktop Troubleshooting Steps

  • Updating Google Chrome Settings

  • Clearing Storage on your Browser (Local Storage, Session Storage, Cookies)

  • Hard Refresh of your Chrome Browser

Updating Google Chrome Settings

Since DriveCentric was built utilizing Google Chrome, if there are inconsistencies seen in the platform the first thing you should ensure if your Google Chrome is up to date. Google Chrome updates its Browser frequently with new build versions for its users, so unless you have automatic updates enabled your browser might not be at the current version needed to have DriveCentric run properly.

We have split these updates into the following three segments:

  • Updating Google Chrome on your Computer

  • Updating Google Chrome on your Android Device

  • Updating Google Chrome on your iPhone & iPad Device

Updating Google Chrome on your Computer:

Normally updates happen in the background when you close and reopen your computer's browser. But if you haven't closed your browser in a while, you might see a pending update:

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.

  2. At the top right, look at More

    More
  3. If an update is pending, the icon will be colored:

    • Green: An update was released less than 2 days ago.

    • Orange: An update was released about 4 days ago.

    • Red: An update was released at least a week ago.

To update Google Chrome:

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.

  2. At the top right, click More

    More
  3. Click Help > About Google Chrome.

  4. Click Update Google Chrome.

    • Important: If you can't find this button, you're on the latest version.

  5. Click Relaunch.

The browser saves your opened tabs and windows and reopens them automatically when it restarts. Your Incognito windows won't reopen when Chrome restarts. If you'd prefer not to restart right away, click Not Now. The next time you restart your browser, the update will be applied.

Updating Google Chrome on your Android:

Chrome should automatically update based on your Play Store settings. You can check if there's a new version available:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Play Store app

    Google Play
  2. At the top right, tap the profile icon.

  3. Tap Manage apps & device.

  4. Under "Updates available," find Chrome

    Chrome
  5. Next to Chrome, tap Update.

Updating Google Chrome on your iPhone & iPad:

Chrome should automatically update based on your Apple App Store settings. You can check if there's a new version available:

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the App Store.

  2. At the top right, tap Profile

    Profile
  3. Scroll down to "Available Updates," and search for Chrome

    Chrome
  4. If Chrome is listed, tap Update to install.

  5. If asked, enter your Apple ID password. The updates will download and install.

If you don’t have the Google Chrome app yet, download it from the App Store.

  2. Select “Application” in the console’s top menu.

  3. Select “Local Storage” in the console’s left menu.

You can also follow the steps below to perform a Hard Reload on your Google Chrome browser:

Right click the screen - click inspect element - then right-click the refresh button - click Empty cache and hard reload.

Performing a hard refresh clears your browser cache for the specific page you are browsing, which forces the browser to load the most recent version of that page. This could include new scripts, styles, or features.
