Genius Inventory (+Recommendations) helps you quickly match customers to the right vehicles using natural language instead of traditional inventory filters. Just tell Genius what the customer is looking for, and it will surface the best matches — ranked by confidence and with clear reasoning behind every recommendation.

What Is Genius Inventory Recommendations?

Genius Inventory Recommendations brings augmented intelligence directly into your Inventory screen. Instead of manually adjusting filters, you can ask Genius for vehicle recommendations based on real customer needs like price, body style, reliability, or buyer type.

Genius analyzes your live inventory, ranks matching vehicles by confidence, and explains why each vehicle fits — making your inventory conversations faster, clearer, and more personalized.

Requirements

  • Genius must be enabled at the store

  • No special permissions required

  • Available to all users

  • Genius Inventory toggle is user-by-user

Stores are limited to 100 searches per day for entire store.

How to Access Genius Inventory Recommendations

You can access Genius Inventory in two places:

  1. Click the Vehicle icon in the main menu

  2. Open a Customer Card and click the Vehicles button

Both paths will take you to the Inventory screen.

How to Turn On Genius Recommendations

  1. From the Inventory screen, toggle Genius Recommendations ON

  2. The standard inventory search will change to Ask Genius

  3. Inventory filters will be disabled so Genius can handle the search for you

How to Ask Genius for Vehicle Recommendations

Once Genius is enabled:

  1. Click into the Ask Genius text field

  2. Type what the customer is looking for

    • Example: “Find me a reliable family SUV under $30K”

  3. Or choose from the dropdown suggestions, including:

    • Recent searches

    • Popular search examples

Genius will immediately begin analyzing your inventory in the background.

Reviewing Genius’s Recommendations

  • Matching vehicles appear directly in the Inventory list

  • Results are ordered by confidence level, with the best matches first

  • Each recommended vehicle displays a Genius icon in the upper-right corner of the vehicle card

    • Hover over the Genius icon on any recommended vehicle

    • Review Genius’s explanation, including:

      • Matching attributes (body style, buyer type, price, reliability)

      • Overall confidence score

Example Genius Reasoning:

  • Body Style: SUV matches Sport Utility

  • Buyer Type: Family SUV fits 8 passengers with 3rd-row seating

  • Price: Under $30K matches $26,798 price

  • Reliability: Kia Telluride known for reliability

  • Confidence: 95%

This makes it easy to explain why a vehicle fits the customer — right on the spot.

Genius Inventory on Mobile

Ask Genius in plain language to instantly see confidence-ranked inventory recommendations with clear reasoning, so you can match customers to the right vehicles faster.

  • Open the mobile app

  • Swipe right on iOS or press the DriveCentric icon in the upper left corner on Android to open the menu screen

  • Choose Inventory

  • Toggle on Genius Inventory

  • Press the search bar and:

    • Type in plain language what you're searching for

    • Choose from "Recent Searches"

    • Choose from "Recommended Searches"

  • Once search results are produced you can click on the Genius icon in the upper right of the vehicle result to see the "Genius Reasoning":

    • Confidence ranking

    • Reasoning behind the ranking
