Porting Your Existing Phone Number to DriveCentric

Step 5: What porting your business phone number to DriveCentric involves, what your Implementation Specialist needs from you, and what happens after you provide it.

What Is Number Porting?

Porting means moving your current business phone number over so it works with your new DriveCentric phone system. You keep the same number your customers already know and call, instead of switching to a new one.

Your part of this is short. You confirm that you want to port your number and hand over a few details from your current phone provider. Your Implementation Specialist submits the request and handles the rest.

What You Need to Provide

Your Implementation Specialist will reach out to gather what is needed to start the port request.

Have these ready when they ask:

  1. Let your Implementation Specialist know you want to port your existing business number.

  2. Provide your current phone provider's account information, including your account number and PIN. Carriers require these to confirm you are the one authorized to move the number.

  3. Confirm the billing address on file with your current provider. It needs to match exactly for the port request to go through.

What Happens After You Provide This Information

Your Implementation Specialist submits the port request and waits for confirmation. You will get an email once the number has successfully moved over.

Porting can take a little time, so there is nothing else you need to do while it is in progress.

Good to Know

  • Your account number and PIN come from your current phone provider, not from DriveCentric.

  • The billing address has to match what your current provider has on file, exactly, or the port request will not go through.

  • These settings are configured by your Implementation Specialist, not something you set up yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions

You will get an email once the number has successfully moved over.

What if I want one of these settings changed?

Let your Implementation Specialist know what you would like updated, and they will take care of it for you.
