What Is A2P Registration?
A2P stands for Application-to-Person messaging. It is the approval process carriers require before your store can text customers from a business phone number.
Carriers check a few things on your website before they approve your store. Your part is getting two pages on your website updated, and you can either handle that yourself or have DriveCentric work with your website provider for you.
Canadian dealerships do not need this step.
What Your Website Needs Before You Register
Two pages on your website need updates before your Implementation Specialist can submit your registration:
Your Contact Us page
Your Privacy Policy
In the language below, replace Store with your store name and Phone with your business phone number.
Adding the Consent Language to Your Contact Us Page
Add the recommended language below the form fill, with a required I Agree checkbox:
I Agree: By providing a telephone number, you agree to receive informational messages (appointment reminders, account notifications, etc.) from Store. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. For help, reply HELP or call us at Phone. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. View our Privacy Policy.
Adding the Required Language to Your Privacy Policy
Add the following language:
Store does not share/buy/sell mobile opt-in consent with third parties for marketing purposes.

Choosing Who Makes the Updates
In the Onboarding Wizard you will choose one of two options:
I approve for you to reach out to my website provider and make the below updates. DriveCentric contacts your website provider directly and makes the changes for you. Nothing changes on your site until you give the go-ahead.
I prefer to make these updates myself. You add the same language to your Contact Us page and Privacy Policy through your own website provider, then let your Implementation Specialist know once it is live.
What Happens After Your Website Is Updated
Once these updates are live, whether DriveCentric made them or you did, your Implementation Specialist submits your Brand Registration using your W-9, then submits your Campaign Registration.
That is what creates your dealership's approved texting campaign with the carriers and ties your business phone number to it. Your texts are then recognized as coming from a verified business instead of getting blocked.
Good to Know
Canadian dealerships do not need this step.
Your W-9 is used for the Brand Registration, so your Implementation Specialist will need it.
Both pages have to be updated before your registration can be submitted.
