Reynolds and Reynolds: Getting Your Data Moved Over

Step 14: What your store provides so your Reynolds and Reynolds history can be pulled into DriveCentric, and what happens after.

Written by DriveCentric Support

What Is the Reynolds and Reynolds Data Extraction?

Reynolds and Reynolds, also called Contact Management, is the CRM your store used before switching to DriveCentric. CRM is short for Customer Relationship Management system, the software that tracks your leads, customers, and deals. Moving that history into DriveCentric is called a data extraction.

With Reynolds and Reynolds, your Implementation Specialist pulls your data directly rather than Reynolds sending it to DriveCentric. Your part is short. You provide one login, and the pulling happens on the DriveCentric side.

Providing Your Collections Login

Collections is the reporting system inside Reynolds and Reynolds, and it is where your Implementation Specialist goes to pull your history. Provide a login with:

  • Access to Collections, the reporting system your data is pulled from

  • Access to all of your store's data, not one department or one user

When You Will Provide It

You will provide the login twice:

  1. At the start of the process, so your Implementation Specialist can pull your initial data.

  2. On your launch day, so your Implementation Specialist can pull your gap data.

Gap data is anything added in Reynolds and Reynolds after that first pull. Pulling it on launch day is what keeps your DriveCentric account caught up from day one.

What Happens After You Provide Your Login

Once your Implementation Specialist has your Collections login, they pull your data and bring it into DriveCentric. They repeat the pull on your launch day to capture anything added since the first one. There is nothing else you need to do in the meantime.

Good to Know

  • Reynolds and Reynolds and Contact Management are two names for the same system.

  • Your Collections login is needed twice, once at the start and once on your launch day.

  • Your Implementation Specialist pulls the data directly, so Reynolds does not send anything to DriveCentric.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does DriveCentric need a login instead of a file from Reynolds?

Reynolds and Reynolds does not send your data to DriveCentric. Your Implementation Specialist pulls it out of Collections, and that requires a login with access to your store's data.

Do I have to do anything on my launch day?

Yes. Make sure your Implementation Specialist still has working access to Collections on your launch day, so the gap pull can happen.
