What Is the Tekion Data Extraction?
Tekion is a CRM, short for Customer Relationship Management system. It is the software your store used to track leads and deals before switching to DriveCentric. A data extraction is Tekion handing that history over in files DriveCentric can import.
Tekion sends the files, so the request has to come from your store. Your part is asking Tekion for the extraction and letting your Implementation Specialist know once you have asked.
Submitting Your Data Extraction Request
Send the request to your Tekion representative as soon as possible, so there is no delay in getting your history moved over. Ask Tekion for:
A full CRM data extraction covering your store's history in Tekion
Upload to the ShareFile link DriveCentric provides, which is the secure folder your files are delivered to
A second gap extraction on your go live date with DriveCentric, covering anything added after the first extraction
Then tell your Implementation Specialist that the request is in, so they know to watch for your files to arrive.
What Happens After You Submit the Request
Once Tekion uploads your data to the ShareFile link, DriveCentric takes it from there and gets your data imported. The gap extraction on your go live date picks up anything added in Tekion after the first one, so your history is caught up when your team starts working in DriveCentric.
Good to Know
Your Tekion representative is who the request goes to, and the request comes from your store.
ShareFile is where Tekion uploads the files, and DriveCentric provides that link.
Timing matters. Submitting the request as soon as possible is what keeps your history from arriving late.
Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly do I ask Tekion for?
Ask for a full CRM data extraction uploaded to the ShareFile link DriveCentric provides, plus a second gap extraction on your go live date.
What is a gap extraction?
It is a second pull covering everything added in Tekion after the first extraction. It runs on your go live date, so nothing from your last stretch in Tekion is left behind.
Do I need to tell DriveCentric that I submitted the request?
Yes. Let your Implementation Specialist know once the request is in, so they can watch for the files to arrive.
