Creating Source Descriptions

In DriveCentric, you are able to add and remove Source Descriptions in the CRM. We allow the store the ability to add Source Descriptions to the following Source Types:

  • Showroom

  • Phone

  • Campaign

  • Internet (Note: Internet Leads are not able to be manually created in DriveCentric)

Here is a quick video showing how you can go into the Store Settings and create new Source Descriptions for the Source Types above:

Grouping your Source Descriptions

In DriveCentric, we also provide our Dealers with the ability to group Source Description names together to display in reporting as one specific description name. This helps our Dealers when you want to see the total number of leads that are received in the CRM from the same provider under one metric instead of having the source descriptions itemized in Reporting.

Note: With Standard and Advanced Reporting, you have the ability to see the source descriptions in a "Grouped" format, or see them itemized on the report when reviewing Source Descriptions.

For example, TrueCar sends in multiple types of Source Descriptions for their leads with different sub-names provided in the lead description:

  • TrueCar/Navy Federal

  • TrueCar/TrueCar

  • TrueCar/(USAA)

You have the ability to create a new Source Description Group Name, select the list of appropriate lead description names you would like grouped under the new name, and save your list.

Ex. Source Description Group Name will be "TrueCar" and we want to include all the TrueCar leads to be a part of the group name:

  • TrueCar/Navy Federal

  • TrueCar/TrueCar

  • TrueCar/(USAA)

You will be able to find the "Source Descriptions Groups" tab by following the steps below:

  1. Click on your initials, or picture, in the top right corner of DriveCentric

  2. Click the "Store Settings" tab

3. Click on the tab labeled "Source Description Groups"

Once you have opened the "Source Description Groups" tab, you will see the green tab labeled "New Group". This is where you can add the desired name of the group that you want to see in reporting:

Ex. "TrueCar"

Once this new group is created, you are now able to start adding the desired source descriptions to the group!

The next step you would take is the selection of what "Source Type" you want to group together. These would include the aforementioned source types listed earlier in this article:

  • Showroom

  • Phone

  • Campaign

  • Internet

Once you have selected the Source Type, we will return the list of all Source Descriptions that have been received to the CRM or have been associated with deals entered into the CRM. You will be able to select each Source Description one by one to add to your Source Description Group.

Once you have selected the desired Source Type and Source Description, you will click. the "Save" icon and the source description will be added to your new Group name!

Please Note: You will not see the new Source Description Group in Reporting until the following day, as our Standard and Advanced Reports update overnight.

We have added a short video tutorial to help follow along with the steps outlined above:
